Following the resounding success of their previous collaborations,
award-winning fashion designer and creative Mimi Plange,
has reunited with LeBron James to celebrate LeBron’s 20th signature shoe with Nike. Bringing to you, theLeBron XX x Mimi Plange ‘Ceremony’.
Known for their influence on fashion, vivid tones and mastery of stripes,
patterns and abstract florals, the ‘Ceremony’ colorway pays homage and takes inspiration from the Maasai people of Tanzania.
Using various mixed media details throughout the shoe, ranging from different weaves, textures, printing and satin stitch embroidery, this design tells the story of the Maasai people and sheds light on their mastery of pattern.

WESHHH.
“Mad King” is a colorful homage to the Bantu people, a family of over 400 ethnic groups in Africa and their symbols.
The symbols were an ancient writing system created by Sangomas or medicine men and women to communicate between tribes.
The symbols chosen on the shoe reflect wisdom, unity, greatness and the future.
WESHHH was founded by artists,
Alassane Sy, Ahmad Cissé and Hamedo “Don” Cissé. The Brooklyn based art collective creates unique fashion projects that are inspired by African cinemas, and elite Senegelese cinematographers like Ousmane Sembéne and Djibril Diop Mambéty.
For their latest project, WESHHH teamed up with Mimi Plange to collaborate on three stories celebrating identity, self love and Plange's latest collaborationwith Nike Basketball and LeBron James, the LeBron XVIII Low x Mimi Plange,
“Mad King.”
The images were captured between 4-6pm, and directed by Alassane Sy, using a Pentax K1000 film camera with Kodak Portra 400 expired rolls of film.

With “Scarred Perfection,” Plange weaves stories of African body adornment and identity, bridging traditional and modern design.
Inspired by the contrast of individuality and tribalism, she creates her own original quilted design motifs and uses her
signature trapunto technique to provide texture and height to the swoosh.
LeBron is committed to loving and celebrating all of the important women in his life, and the LeBron 18 Low “Daughters” is a deep reflection of that devotion.
For this colorway, Mimi uses the symbolic rose as a dedication to raising strong daughters, spreading a message of empowerment for
girls to express their own beauty, resilience, and growth.
Unfashion visionary Mimi Plange follows her own rules, creating culture-spanning works that are elegant, expansive and completely unexpected.
The LeBron 18 Low “Higher Learning” is her first sneaker design, inspired by varsity jackets that are a
powerful symbol of sport and school.
