Origins of practice
The Language of Design
The Inscribed Surface

The Inscribed Surface
is our design language.
Inspired by scarification,
the ancient art of body modification through incision, marking, and raised patterning,
our work explores the surface of textiles as a site of inscription, memory, and form.

The Ritual Surface

The Ritual Surface
reflects the ceremonial and material world that informs our practice.
Inspired by African masquerade traditions,
beading, embroidery, and fringe, give garments presence, movement, and meaning.
Surface becomes a place of transformation.

The Adorned Surface

The Adorned Surface explores self-expression through craft and the layering of diverse, found materials.
Surface becomes a place where individuality takes form through color, mark, texture, and composition.
Upcycling and sustainable methods bring together materials with different histories and meanings, shaping a visual language rooted in expression, transformation, and freedom.
